The Queen Victoria Inn is your typical country pub placed near the summit of the Mendip hills at almost 1,000 feet above sea level. It began it’s life as a pub in the late 1800s and contains many of it’s original features including wonderful flagstone flooring, huge fireplaces and beamed ceilings. It has as much charm and character from the outside as it does inside, built with natural stone set off with creeper cladding.
The for all seasons and for all reasons local pub is without doubt the best place to refresh after a long walk in the surrounding countryside, or a hard days caving.
Whether your local to the area or escaping city life for the afternoon you are welcome to share it with us at the Queen Victoria, you can even bring your dog and relax in the warmth from our two roaringĀ log burners.
At the Queen Victoria we offer 3 real ales and 6 ciders. With Butcombe bitter and Rare Breed and a rotating guest ale . And being in Somerset we cannot fail to mention our cider offering. Being the most popular drink by miles (especially in the summer months) we have the wonderfully crisp and refreshing Ashton Press, or Thatcher’s dry and Stowford Press For something a little stronger you may want to try the farmhouse ,Harrys Haymaker made in Long Sutton Somerset, also we have Rosie Pig and Rosies Rhubard both of which are cloudy still ciders .
When it comes to our food we pride ourselves on sourcing our products locally and cooking good quality home made food for every pocket .Food is served everyday.
